As a team they represent a compelling and personable solution for referrals and training. All but Stephen Godfrey qualified from the University of Sheffield, recognised for consistently excellent teaching, scoring 96% in the last national assessment and rating 5 for research. Stephen was a highly respected teacher there for eight years leaving to concentrate on developing his practice. He has recently returned as a Part time clinical lecturer.
Stephen Godfrey qualified from The University of Leeds in 1979 and specialises
in root canal therapy and conservative dentistry. He gained his masters
degree in conservative dentistry at the renowned Eastman Dental Institute
in London. He has delivered post graduate education throughout the
region for the last 25 years. He runs the Challenging Courses programme.

Christina Abson (left) qualified from Sheffield University as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist in 2003.
As Staff Hygienist at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, she has worked closely with many well-respected consultant Periodontologists.
Supporting the team at Stephen Godfrey Dental Care, Christina provides a full range of non-surgical periodontal therapies in line with current best practice guidelines.
Christina now divides her week between the Practice and teaching student hygienists and therapists at the University of Sheffield.
Joanne Kearsley (right) graduated
in 1987. Experienced in all aspects of general dentistry, Joanne won
the coveted Medical Protection Society elective prize and supports
the team with high quality general dentistry. Her medico legal training
and experience brings a further dimension to enhance our patient care.
Johnathan Hoare
Qualified from Guy's Hospital, University of London in 1995 and in 2000 he gained the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS), from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. After qualifying he worked in general practice, this was followed by hospital surgical posts, working in Hereford, Worcester and Dudley. His passionate interest however is endodontics and he now limits his treatments to root canal therapy.
He is also part of the restorative team at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield working along side the consultants to provide advanced endodontics. In addition, Johnathan is involved in teaching both undergraduates and postgraduate students. He is an active member of the Trent region Endodontic study group and member of the British Endodontic Society.
Dimitrious Stougiannos
provides our surgical, implant and restorative referral service here at Stephen Godfrey Dental Care. In 2002 Dimitrious successfully completed a Masters degree in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester. In 2006 he was awarded a Certificate in Implantology from the University of Warwick and recently completed a second Masters degree from the University of Manchester again in Implantology.
At the moment he works as a Speciality Doctor in Oral Surgery, Manchester where he is responsible for the surgical placement of dental implants. He also mentors and teaches other dentists who are undertaking the MSc in Implantology at the University.
